Roll up roll up for three days and nights of music and merry mayhem as the Bestivalest Show On Earth returns for your pleasure!

Bestival, now in its fourth year, is well known for its unique creativity, innovation and darned right cheekiness.  A three day world of utter escapism takes festival lovers into the realms of surreal adventure.

This year the Bestival Main Stage will be set alight with two of the worlds greatest live spectaculars – The Chemical Brothers who will be headlining the Friday night slot and the mighty Beastie Boys who will reign on Saturday.

Chemical Brothers: “We’re very excited to be playing at Bestival. It was the best party I went to last summer, I can’t believe we haven’t done it yet, we’re going to rock the house!” Ed Simons, The Chemical Brothers

As for the Saturday headliner, the Beastie Boys will be taking the Isle of Wight by storm, this is an exclusive performance by the legendary US act, their only festival in England.

Live Acts Announced Today are:

Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers, Gregory Isaacs,  The Levellers, The Orb, Billy Brag, The Maccabees,  The Cuban Brothers,  Dub Pistols, Calvin Harris,  Mr Hudson & The Library,  Simian Mobile Disco, Bonde de Role, Cagedbaby, Horace Andy, Jah Wobble, Zion Train, Fujiya and Miyagi, Fionn Regan, Daedalus,  Ska Cubano, Super Nashwan, Kate Nash, Remi Nicole, The Shakes, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Fields, Adjagas and many more live acts to be announced…

This year is already going bonkers as everyone’s favourite festi spins into action – Rob da Bank is so excited he could pop:

“I can’t believe we’re about to launch the fourth Bestival and i’m as excited as ever about the acts we’ve got on board already and the hundreds more to come. We’re the only English festival to get the Beastie Boys and I can’t wait to see the fancy dress loonies po-going along to No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn. Friday headliners

The Chemical Brothers are old favourites of all of us at Bestival HQ and their new tunes are miles ahead of everyone else as usual. Laser rave action ahoy! As for the Sunday headliner, well you’ll just have to wait but it’ll be worth it (and yes I do know who it is!)” Rob da Bank

Once again Bestival will attempt the world’s biggest fancy dress party, Bollywood Cocktail Bar, Laughter Clubs, Farmers Market, Kids Area, Morris Dancing, magical moments and much more.  And just a few more of the genius new mad-cap ideas that da Bank and his fellow fun brigade have dreamt up to keep Bestival the most exciting festival of all:

Swim to Bestival – What better way to arrive at Bestival than with a bracing charity swim across the Solent? With Navy lifeguards on hand in case you get a bit knackered and Miguel Mantovani from The Cuban Brothers screaming encouragement into a megaphone from his rubber dinghy this is the way to travel! Full details to follow.

Club Dada – A new tent for Bestival 2007 in which anything and everything could happen. And probably will!  Surreal mixtures of cabaret and performance with the coolest music to boot. From hoedown to high times, from lo fi to Death Defying Circus acts. This is the tent to feel the warmth of the Bestival mayhem and meet a whole new Bonkers World.

Laughter Clubs – inspired by the rib tickling chuckling associations that have sprung up all over India and the rest of the world Bestivalites can join in a number of laughter clubs happening across the Bestival site all weekend.

Fake Bush goes to Bollywood – our favourite Kate Bush impersonator imagines our Kate heading off to Bollywood with her new show unveiled at Bestival 2007.

Much more to be announced shortly!
